Betsy's Calico Bean Soup

I used to make this soup with dried beans and it took all day to cook, but the ranch hands often come in and say they're starving, so I whip up this fast and easy version and they never know the difference!

8 cans (undrained) of any combination of the following beans: (I like to use a can of each, but if I don't have them all in the pantry, I just use what I do have.)

1 cup chopped onions
2 cups cubed ham
1/2 cup brown sugar
Enough Mesquite Flavored Liquid Smoke to suit yer taste

Directions: Just open all the cans of beans and dump into a large pot...liquid and all. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook about an hour. Great with corn bread or biscuits.
