Oh my gosh! My heart's beatin' so fast I can barely breath.

Tonight started out like any other, we all had dinner in the ranch kitchen. Betsy out did herself with some tummy warmin' chili and cornbread and a delishious Apple Pan Dowdy for desert. Uncle Cletus and I headed up to the ranch house to watch the National Finals Rodeo on TV. Just as we was leavin' the kitchen, Uncle Cletus invited Dusty to come along.

Right off my stomach felt like a herd of butterflies were stampeding through it. I'd kinda been shyin' away from Dusty since the night of the barn dance and that infamous kiss. Everytime I'd think about him lately, I'd get all befuddled.

We all got settled in and I was just beginning to relax when Dusty slipped his hand behind Uncle Cletus, reached over and took my hand...just like that! I was so shocked, I didn't know what to do, but it felt right nice, sittin' there watchin' the rodeo and holdin' Dusty's hand, so I left mine right there in his.Sock Monkey Rodeo
After the rodeo was over, Uncle Cletus excused himself real quick like and I walked Dusty to the door. I was hopin' that he'd kiss me again before he left, but he just gave my hand a little squeeze and said, "Good night, Miss Millie, it's sure been a pleasure."

Them's the sweetest words I ever heard!
