Sock Monkey Ranch is the fantastical world that lives in the mind of sock monkey-maker, Jan Christiansen, who after creating her first sock monkey, fell in love with the whole process and quickly found the monkeys taking over. She created SockMonkeyRanch.com to corral the monkeys and to give them a voice of their own. (Sock monkeys have a lot to say, you know!)

Jan considers sock monkey creation a mysterious and wonderful calling.

"I never know when I start a monkey just who is going to emerge, but somewhere between cutting the pattern and the finishing stitches, the little critter will reveal its name, its personality and its story.
When I create a sock monkey, I believe that God already knows who will be the recipient and I pray that each monkey will bring joy and happiness to its new owner. That's its purpose.

I've received stories from owners of SMR sock monkeys. They've gone to cancer patients, home-bound senior citizens, newborn babies and children of all ages...many have written to tell me that their monkey has been a source of hope and laughter.

What a blessing it is to me as an artist to know that God uses what I create to bless another person's life!"

Jan is an artist, writer and Grandma. (She likes the last one the best!)
Each Sock Monkey Ranch sock monkey is lovingly stitched together (machine and double hand-stitching) from Original Rockford Red Heel Socks. They are stuffed for perfect squishability with 100% polyfill, then fitted with clothing to suit their personality. (Some outfits are purchased, some are handmade.)

If you would like one of these little blessings to come live with you, be a mascot for your business or to give as a gift, please let us know. Email Jan.
